The UN International Labour Organization estimates there are as many as 27.6 million victims of human trafficking worldwide at any given time. We often think human trafficking only occurs in distant places, but suspected cases have been reported in all fifty U.S. states. The Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 established human trafficking as a criminal act, with its two primary forms identified as forced labor and sex trafficking. During this session we will review guidance and tips to help you fulfill your role of identifying and reporting financial transactions relating to human trafficking activity.
