WEBINAR DETAILS

The NCUA has approved changes to its regulations governing share insurance coverage, which will become effective on December 1, 2026. The amendments simplify the share insurance regulations by establishing a "trust accounts" category that governs coverage of shares of revocable trust accounts (including formal trusts, payable on death (POD), in trust for (ITF), testamentary, and Totten) and irrevocable trusts using a common, simple calculation.

While the calculations are now simpler for the public, the amount of insurance has decreased dramatically for some members. Learn how to calculate the insurance, explain it to your members, and review which members could be affected and have their insurance reduced by this change.
